The TT Supporters’ Club in action at TT 2010

We look forward to meeting old friends and making new ones at this year’s TT. Please drop into the shop, which will be located in its usual position at the rear of the Grandstand. Rose, Vera and Lesley will help you in renewing your membership – perhaps you could encourage others to join us in our quest to assist the TT competitors fulfil their dream of racing on the Mountain Course.

Memorabilia, souvenirs and race programmes can be purchased at the TTSC shop

Scheduled opening times for the shop are 9.00am daily throughout the fortnight until the end of practicing and ‘late’ during race week, depending on what time the races finish.

The Club will be supporting the competitors who are members of the Club with a ‘gift package’ to the value of about £45…the main item of which will be fire retardant overalls, suitable for use in the pit lane and naturally emblazoned with the Club’s logo…several other items, such as cable ties will also be included.

The Club will be involved in the provision of SIS Electrolyte Sport Drinks and Energy Gels for competitors; a substantial donation has been made by your Club towards the cost of these drinks to be handed out to competitors giving them an added energy boost before setting out on the circuit. The drinks can be collected from the TTRA Centre adjacent to our shop.

The Riders’ Draw will take place live on the Charlie Williams’ Radio TT Show - £1000 is up for grabs with the first name drawn but of the hat receiving £400; second will net £200, then there will be four other winners receiving £100 each.

Again, the Club will be co-ordinating the Sports’ Injury Clinic, which is scheduled to operate from 1st – 9th June, inclusive. The facility is available daily from 9.00am to the conclusion of practising / racing. Competitors requiring assistance should contact Liz and Emma on 07624 256302 or via the TTSC Shop or ACU Race Office.

The TTSC Trophy will be presented to the rider with the fastest aggregate speed across the two Supersport TTs. Ian Hutchinson with a victory and a fifth position last year is the current holder of the silver tray on a plinth.

Lady competitors will be vying for the Susan Jenness Trophy, currently held by Jenny Tinmouth after her fantastic debut performance last year. Awarded for the most meritorious performance, in the eyes of Club officials, by a female competitor, Jenny will have much competition with Maria Costello returning to the TT and then, of  course, there’s the sidecar girls, with potential winners, hopefully including Ruth Laidlow, Julie Hanks-Elliott, Fiona Baker-Milligan, Sally Wilson, Sylvie Leblond, Julie Downie, Annette Daykin…

If you are unable to make it to the island for the TT and would like a TT programme posting to you, then contact Rose on 0121 6863799 before Tuesday 25th May.

Don’t forget TTSC members, on production of their current membership card, will receive a 10% discount at the IoM branch of B&Q during the TT Festival.
