2005 ISLE OF MAN TT RACES – RACE BULLETIN No 5

Monday June 6th

John McGuinness will be looking for further success today when the 2005 TT Race meeting continues in the Isle of Man.

McGuinness – who won yesterday’s Duke TT Superbike Race – has rides in both the 113 mile Scottish Life International TT Superstock, which starts today’s programme, and the afternoon’s Supersport Junior TT A Race. He heads the Superstock leaderboard with a lap of 123.164 miles an hour on his Yamaha, recorded in Tuesday night’s practising.

The Morecambe rider claimed his seventh TT victory when he led from start to finish in yesterday’s Superbike event, taking the chequered flag ahead of Adrian Archibald and Martin Finnegan. Archibald features in sixth position on the Superstock leaderboard with a lap of 121.899 while second to fifth position are filled by Ian Lougher (123.084), Paul Hunt (122.687), Bruce Anstey (122.611) and Jason Griffiths (122.242.)

Ryan Farquhar, who only got as far as Union Mills – three miles from the start - in the TT Superbike will be hoping for much better luck this time in the 150 mile Supersport Junior TT. He starts at number one and was also first on the practice leaderboard, his Kawasaki recording 121.924 in Friday night’s session.

Another competitor hoping for better fortunes is Richard Britton who held third place in the TT Superbike before retiring on lap four of the six-lap race. He is second on the leaderboard at 121.371. Then come Bruce Anstey (121.368), Martin Finnegan (120.985), John McGuinness (119.808) and Adrian Archibald (119.663).

Roads close at 10am with the TT Superstock due to start proceedings at 10.45 followed by the Supersport Junior TT at 12.45.
