HOW IT ALL BEGAN

The Club's function is to actively support and promote the Isle of Man TT… it was created as the Trophy Club by the ACU in the early 1970s, but it soon became apparent that for it to work it would need enthusiasts, not a governing body, at the helm - it was then that the TT Supporters Club was formed in 1972.

With former Sidecar Racer Fred Hanks as Chairman, the club began it's fund raising activities. Since the policy of the Isle of Man Tourist Board & the ACU is to pay towards competitors travel expenses, the TTSC decided to help competitors in other ways.

What we do ?
In addition to our behind the scene campaigning on behalf of the event itself, During practice week, the army of volunteers provide a very much needed service in the paddock at the now infamous TT tent supplying tea, coffee, soup and cold drinks to competitors, mechanics, families and anyone else who happens to be around the pits for the 5:00am practice sessions. And we do the same for the evening practices.

For Race Week, the TTSC provide the Ladies Haven, where rider's wives and families can get together for a quiet cuppa or listen to the race. Once racing is over, the Haven is usually the first place that riders make for, both for refreshment and to unwind.

The TTSC directly helps each and every competitor at the Isle of Man TT races. As well as the now essential paddock services, we also provide each competitor with various useful products i.e. Body Warmer, Duct Tape, Cable Ties, Chain Lube, Hand Cleaner etc each year to help them during TT fortnight, we also have a riders cash draw with a first prize of £500 down to £100, the Club know spends in the region of £18.000 per year on the riders All they have to do to get these goods is join the club

How do we do it?
. First and foremost the TTSC is run by volunteers, and some of the ways in which the TTSC maintains this fine service is by selling TTSC merchandise all year round at various shows throughout the UK as well as at the TTSC shop behind the Grandstand during TT fortnight and you can visit the Club Shop on this site. We hold club nights at different locations, (see world reps link for details). The other is  through annual membership. So why not join ?  As a sponsor you will not only have the satisfaction of knowing you're money is helping the riders taking part in the TT,  you will receive two very informative magazines, a membership card and a badge you will wear with pride all for just £15.

We hope you will join us.  We need you.
