Tragedy struck again during today’s Sidecar Race 2. Roger Stockton with his son Bradley in the chair crashed their Dennis Menace Racing 600cc LCR Suzuki at Ago’s Leap on the second lap of the two lap race. Sadly both were killed, our thoughts and prayers are with the Stockton family, team and friends at this very difficult time.
The comments by some ‘keyboard warriors’ can only be described as disgraceful. This is not the time for accusations, incriminations or mud slinging. Thorough investigations will be held in due course and at that time questions can be asked. As well as the bereaved there will be marshals, medics and spectators trying to come to terms with what they have witnessed and been involved in. Some of these people may need professional support and the last thing they need is to read or to be made aware of the vitriol that is posted on social media. The organisers also need time and being bombarded by negative and abusive comments does not help in any way. The people who post need to stop and think about how their comments will affect the people who have been involved. It is a time of respect.
We all love the sport and we all feel the pain at these sad times.
Michael Dunlop took his 21st TT victory when he won the second Supersport Race. The Birchall brothers were declared winners of the Sidecar 2 Race, taking their tally to 12.
