Estelle Leblond and Melanie Farnier
were presented with Susan Jenness
Trophy on Tuesday, live on Radio TT.
They
were still buzzing from having
broken the 110 mph barrier in Monday
afternoon practice. The SJT is
presented for the most meritorious
performance by a female competitor
in the previous years TT
Estelle and Melanie became the
fastest all female crew when they
finished 11th in Sidecar Race 1 in
2017, having a fastest lap of
108.407 mph and a race speed of
107.61mph. They were running 6th in
the second race with a fastest lap
of 109.394mph before a fuel pump
issue ended their race.
Estelle made her debut in 2013 with
Sebastien Lavorel in the chair;
Melanie first TT experience was in
2015 where she was ballast for
Lionel Mansuy, finishing both races
and achieving a lap over 100 mph in
Race 2.
Estelle and Melanie won the French Sidecar Championship 2016 and decided the team should compete together in the 2017 TT. They are now back again this year and are also going to enter the S100 for the first time in July.
Many
thanks to Jo Pack, Radio TT, for
allowing the presentation to take
place on her show and for the
professional way she conducted her
interviews and the back ground
research she researched. Estelle,
Melanie and their families were
delighted with the presentation and
publicity.
